TGFM- Thank God For Momma

images via here & here

This weekend my momma is coming to town and I am so excited! It has been awhile since we have had a  “girls weekend” filled with good shopping, good food and great wine. Yesterday I said I was a daddy’s girl. Welp, today I am a momma’s girl. Some things never change? Regardless, my momma and I get along well and always have — aside from the b*tchy teen years. Sorry about that, mom. Happens to the best of us. Anyways, I cannot wait to spend the weekend with her. It’s great when she comes it town because it is an excuse to escape “my Dallas” and jump into different “getaway Dallas.” I don’t have the itch to go out to bars or see everyone. I can lay low and just be. I always need a weekend “away” everyone once in a while! A little R&R with my momma is exactly what I need!! Now another positive aspect of momma coming to town: we have very similar taste in clothes so it tends to work out well when we go shopping together. This weekend we might also make a quick stop by Dry Bar for a little refreshing hair-do. And it wouldn’t be fair to have great hair & keep it cooped up inside– so we made reservations at Hattie’s in the Bishop Arts District. I cannot wait to cross this restaurant off my Dallas foodie list!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Empire State of Mind

images via

This weekend I am off to the Big Apple!!! Cue “Empire State of Mind” by Jay-Z. Every time I am in NYC I have this utter sense of Carrie Bradshaw being injected into me as soon as the plane touches down. New York City is one of those places you can travel to for years and still never see everything. It is a little magical if you ask me. As far as fashion is concerned, anything is possible and everything is acceptable. I haven’t been to the city in a few years so I am super excited to get back. The boyfriend is accompanying me and I could not be more excited (he’s never been!!) to share this experience with him!! I’ll be sure to capture tons of pictures and share them with you when I return! Until next time…

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!!

I am currently still Atlanta until tonight but regardless, I am very excited that it is the weekend! This weekend TCU plays the University of Oklahoma for the last game of the season! This would be huge if we win so keep your fingers crossed for me! Looks like the weather might remain in cooler temperatures which I’m pretty excited about!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was very necessary. Friday was spent curled up on the couch with boyfriend & pup watching a movie with takeout. Saturday was full of errands and heading back to Fort Worth for the TCU game. After moving to Dallas I forget how much I miss Fort Worth. Although, I am not entirely sure if I miss the school aspect but I definitely miss the college days. TCU unforunately lost this weekend but we still had a great time seeing friends from all over come back together for the game. Here are a few pics of my weekend!

snuggled a lot with this boy this weekend

love waking up to his face!!

go frogs!!

some wrestling/puppy love occurred

boys will be boys— yes they’re matching (unintentionally)

woke up to this pup eying squirrels Sunday morning after staying with a friend

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Have an even better Monday!!

Tasteful Advice: Carry Yourself with Grace

image via more than sayings

Am I the only one who thinks this week felt abnormally long? No? Good. This quote above has been the background of my Ipad for many months. I’m pretty A.D.D with those sorts of things so to have anything last longer than 1 month is a record.

Grace [noun, verb] elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action; goodwill or kindness.

Grace. What is it? I am certainly not graceful (clumsy would be an accurate word) but I would still like to think I carry myself with grace. I believe that grace is a way to present one’s self. Walk into a room and encompass yourself with grace, be delighted to know that you have achieved one of the highest compliments. It’s a behavior that can be expressed in a multitude of ways. This weekend, say grace…but also, wherever you may be, know that you too, can have grace. If you’re lucky, all you need to do is be yourself.

Have a wonderful (& graceful) weekend!!

Ps. Go Frogs!! Rah Rah TCU! Big game this weekend— hopefully it ends in our favor!!

Friday: Tasteful Advice

I am so happy it is Friday— ps. can we talk about how frightening it is that we are already in November?! This weekend is going to be filled with quality time with the boyfriend, which I am very much looking forward to, snuggling with the pup, good food, relaxation and TCU football; some of my favorite things in life. All of these make me a very happy girl :)

Hope you have a fantastic and happy weekend!

Happy Friday!

TGIF! I could not be more happy that it is Friday! I am currently in Boston but hope everyone has a great weekend filled with celebration (of any sort!) To be honest, I’m not entirely sure why Olivia Palermo is even famous…aside from her killer style choices. In my opinion she is always someone who looks flawless- one of those girls that could wear a brown paper bag and rock it. Hate her. Anywhooo… I hope to be looking as fabulous as O.P. this weekend in my fall/winter wear. I’ll post pics Monday of my lovely fall-weather travels!

Have a great Friday!
